Terms and Conditions

1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (Terms) govern your use of the Devolver website (www.devolver.com.au), the purchase of containers, and the hire of containers for events and catering (collectively, Services). By placing an order or making an enquiry, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Purchasing Containers
2a. Orders
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order. A binding contract is formed when we confirm your order by email.
All prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD). Prices are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping costs, if applicable, will be displayed at checkout.
2b. New and Used Containers
We sell both new and used containers. Used containers have been previously used in our reuse system and cleaned to food-safe standards before sale. By purchasing a used container, you acknowledge and accept that it may show minor cosmetic wear consistent with prior use.
All containers are sold as described. It is your responsibility to review product descriptions before purchasing.
2c. Payment
Payment is required in full at the time of purchase. We accept payment methods as listed on our website. We use secure third-party payment processors to handle transactions. We do not store your full payment card details.
2d. Shipping and Delivery
We aim to dispatch orders within 3 business days of payment confirmation. Delivery timeframes are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers or circumstances outside our control.
Risk in the goods passes to you upon dispatch. If your order is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue.
2e. Returns and Refunds
Our goods come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. If a product is faulty, not as described, or otherwise fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy (repair, replacement, or refund as applicable).
Change of mind returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt, provided the container is unused and in its original condition (at sale). Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns are at your expense.

3. Container Hire for Events and Catering
3a. How Hire Works
We offer reusable containers for hire for events, catering, and similar closed-loop environments. Hire enquiries can be submitted via our website. A hire agreement is formed when we confirm the booking in writing and a deposit or full payment is received.
3b. Hire Period and Return
Containers must be returned by the agreed return date and in Good Condition. Good Condition means clean and undamaged, as determined at our reasonable discretion.
You are responsible for all containers from the time of collection or delivery until return. This includes loss, theft, or damage occurring during the hire period.
3c. Cleaning
Containers are to be returned reasonably clean. Containers returned dirty will be cleaned by us however, a cleaning fee may apply and will be notified to you in advance or outlined in your hire agreement.
3d. Food Safety Responsibility
Devolver supplies containers for hire purposes only. We do not represent or warrant that containers are food-safe, sterile, or otherwise suitable for the serving of food at the time of use. It is the sole responsibility of the hirer — and any caterer, food handler, or event operator using the containers — to inspect, clean, and satisfy themselves that the containers meet all applicable food safety standards and regulatory requirements before use.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Devolver accepts no liability for any illness, injury, loss, or damage arising from the use of hired containers in connection with food service, including any failure by the hirer or a third party to ensure containers are clean and food-safe prior to use.
3e. Lost or Damaged Containers
For each container not returned, or returned in a condition that is not Good Condition, you will be charged a replacement fee. Replacement fees will be communicated at the time of hire booking.
If containers are lost or damaged during the hire period, please notify us as soon as practicable.
3f. Hire Fees and Deposits
Hire fees and any applicable deposits will be set out in your hire confirmation. Deposits will be refunded upon return of all containers in Good Condition within the agreed timeframe.
We reserve the right to apply the deposit against any outstanding fees, including replacement or cleaning fees.
4. Container Use and Safety
All Devolver containers have a stainless steel base and polypropylene lid. Please note:
• Containers are not microwaveable.
• The stainless steel base may become hot when in contact with hot food or liquids — handle with care.
• Edges may be sharp — take appropriate care when handling.
• Containers are dishwasher safe and oven safe to 200 degrees C.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Devolver Pty Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without our prior written permission.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law, our liability to you is limited to the value of the goods or services you purchased from us.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of our products or services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
7. Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at admin@devolver.com.au. We will make a genuine effort to resolve the issue. If we cannot resolve it directly, you may have the right to contact fair trading or another relevant body under applicable consumer laws.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
